How to classify, select, and operate electric actuators?
1. Determine electrical parameters based on the selected electric actuator. Due to differences in electrical parameters among different electric actuator manufacturers, it is generally necessary to determine their electrical parameters during design and selection, mainly including motor power, rated current, and secondary control circuit voltage. Often, errors in this regard can result in mismatched control system and electric actuator parameters, leading to faults such as tripping during operation, fuse melting, and thermal overload relay protection tripping.
2. The output torque of an electric actuator is determined based on the required torque of the valve. The torque required for valve opening and closing determines the size of the output torque selected for the electric actuator. Generally, it is proposed by the user or selected by the valve manufacturer. As an actuator manufacturer, it is only responsible for the output torque of the actuator. The torque required for normal valve opening and closing is determined by factors such as the valve diameter and working pressure. However, due to differences in machining accuracy and assembly processes among valve manufacturers, the required torque for valves of the same specification produced by different manufacturers also varies. Even for valves of the same specification produced by the same valve manufacturer, there may be differences in torque. When selecting the type, selecting too small a torque for the actuator can cause the valve to not open and close normally. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a reasonable torque range for electric actuators.
Application of electric actuators
Electric actuators are driving devices for various types of electric valves in rotary control systems, used to control the opening and closing of valves. They are suitable for valves with angular travel such as butterfly valves, ball valves, and air dampers, and can accurately act according to control instructions. They are essential driving devices for remote control, centralized control, and automatic control of valves. RC series electric actuators are widely used in a variety of industrial fields, including petroleum, chemical industry, water treatment, power, building materials, smelting, pharmacy, paper making, energy, food processing, ships, building automation, etc.
